London, UK, 3 March 2009 – Trevor Smith joins Rotam as Sales and Marketing Manager for Northern Europe in a significant boost for the crop protection company’s growth plans in the region.
Trevor took up the post with the Canadian-owned multinational manufacturer on 1st March and will focus primarily on the key UK and Irish markets, providing a major service element to these and other European countries. With direct sales growing, Rotam acknowledges the importance of developing comprehensive technical, sales and marketing support to its chosen customers.
“I was thrilled to accept the role with Rotam,” Trevor says. “The company has a lot of fantastic opportunities ahead. I believe Rotam has a good strategy and very strong product range; it is continually looking at new and alternative products and new ways of adding value.”
The main priority for Trevor will be to grow and establish product sales, with Rotam having now completed the significant initial investment to register its first group of new products in Europe. “In particular, I’ll be focusing sales and marketing support around Toledo® (tebuconazole), launched in the UK last autumn, and Rotam’s two new metsulfuron-based herbicide products Savvy® and Ergon®,” he explains. “My responsibilities will also include product development and demonstration. “I’m really looking forward to the challenge of increasing the penetration of Rotam’s product range,” Trevor enthuses, “and playing my part in establishing the company firmly within the European agrochemical market.”
Prior to this role, Trevor’s career has spanned over 20 years in the agrochemical industry in sales and marketing roles, with both multinational companies and independent manufacturers.
